We were contacted by a company that wanted to start distributing DVDs through its e-shop. We discovered that the representatives of the company had very little experience with logistics. They knew what they wanted to sell and to whom. They needed us to ensure that their customers really received the goods.
Therefore, the first thing we did was to gauge their expectations and wishes and then work out suggestions for how to fulfill those wishes. We strongly stressed the practical efficiency of logistics and the suggestions that could help the client save money throughout the first stage of starting their business –switching the originally-planned data exchange for a simpler system, simplifying the flow of documents between the client and their customers, exchanging expensive paper documents for cheaper pdf files, improving the method of packaging and filling of consignments, and monitoring consignments.
We presented the current list of offers for parcel distribution companies on the market with stress on the quality of service provided, their method and amount of insurance and the traceability of consignments. It was necessary to clearly determine the line of responsibility between us, the parcel company and the client.
For the business start-up, we recommended not investing in a complicated data exchange and provided the client with our system for preparing orders free of charge. This system also included the information about the state of the warehouse, so there was no need for new software.
We helped with the selection of suitable boxes and provided the purchase of these boxes, complete with the printing of the company logo.
Thanks to our comments and suggestions, we were able to spare the client having to invest heavily into starting his business, thereby freeing more operational capital upon start-up of the business.
There are plenty of e-shops on the market and we know that, once disappointed, a customer will never come back. Therefore, we stressed the speed of order preparation and quality from the very beginning.
Thanks to our developed system of checking prepared orders, we achieved our goal.
Every consignment is checked 100% before its expedition by reading the barcodes of all the products. If one piece is missing, or, on the contrary, there is an extra piece, the staff is alerted and has to check the consignment again. The system enables the printing of address labels for faultless consignments only. Thanks to this, we have achieved 100% precision in the preparation of orders and the full satisfaction of both the client and their customers.
